Is Puracy Cruelty Free?

Yes, Puracy is cruelty free.

Puracy is an American company that does not test its raw ingredients and earth-friendly formulas on animals. Its naturally derived yet effective products are broken down into four categories, namely: house, body, baby and kids, and pets.

Puracy is committed to being a cruelty free brand. It has received its independent accreditation from two distinguished programs: Leaping Bunny and Beauty Without Bunnies. In their blog post “Is Puracy Cruelty-Free?,” they write:

“Being 100% cruelty-free at every stage of product development is a major part of our mission…

Since our team is made up of pet owners and animal lovers, it was obvious that Puracy was a cruelty-free company. Committing to never test on animals—at any stage of the product development process—is the right thing to do, both morally and ethically…

However, numerous home and personal care products brands claim that they don’t test on animals. But even if a company claims their ‘finished’ products aren’t tested on animals, it’s possible that individual ingredients in the finished formula have been. In fact, some manufacturers use the distinction between ‘testing ingredients’ and ‘testing finished products’ to suggest their products have never been tested on animals.

If a product advertises ‘never tested on animals’ or ‘cruelty-free’ on the label, we encourage you to dig a bit deeper. These terms aren’t regulated in the United States and don’t require verification processes that organizations like PETA and Cruelty Free International [now associated with Leaping Bunny] call for before endorsing any products or companies.”

Additionally, Puracy shares that they do not import and sell their products in China, a country known for having animal testing laws. However, they allow Chinese customers to purchase them online, therefore bypassing the animal testing requirements of the country.
