Is Biokleen Cruelty Free?

Yes, Biokleen is cruelty free.

Biokleen is an American brand that manufactures cleaning products for laundry, dishwashing, home, and even pets. It was developed by Jim Rimer in the 1980s, after working for a chemical supply company. Rimer first sold a plant-based, non-toxic all-purpose cleaner, then slowly expanded his offerings. To date, Biokleen is committed to selling products free of phosphates, chlorine, ammonia, alcohol, butyl, glycol ether, brighteners, artificial colours, and artificial fragrances.

In the Our Story section, Biokleen writes, “We love animals. That’s why we have never tested a single product on them or used their biochemistry in our formulations. In fact, we design all Biokleen products with our—and your—pets in mind, for they are just as sensitive to toxins, synthetic dyes, and artificial fragrances as we are.”

Biokleen received its cruelty free certification from Beauty Without Bunnies. Moreover, all its products have been verified as vegan-friendly by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. This means that they do not use animal-derived ingredients or by-products.
